Announcing MuzicTrain Annual Bursaries and Awards

Charles and Laura Stanger Memorial Bursary

Details: $1,000, 3 awarded annually, for secondary school graduates

Eligible students must be graduating from a Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) secondary school, and be attending a post-secondary school after graduation. Eligible recipients will have participated for at least two years in an organized music program while in school. Qualifying progams may be either curricular or extra-curricular.

An eligible student will also have made a significant contribution to their school and community through involvement and participation in community programs and activities, over and above official school programs.

The MuzicTrain Grade 8 Grad Music Excellence Award

Details: $150, 10 awarded annually, for Grade 8 graduates

Eligible students must be graduating from Grade 8 in a WRDSB elementary school. Eligible recipients will have participated for at least one year in an organized music program while in school. Qualifying progams may be either curricular or extra-curricular.

An eligible student will also have made a significant contribution to their school and community through involvement and participation in community programs and activities, over and above official school programs.

MuzicTrain is a non-profit organization operating in the Province of Ontario, Canada.

About MuzicTrain

The objective of MuzicTrain is to provide and promote musical education and performance opportunities for young people in Ontario, particularly in the Waterloo Region of Ontario.

To meet this objective MuzicTrain provides musical instruction courses, seminars, and workshops both online and in private and group teaching sessions. MuzicTrain also sponsors, organizes and promotes a select number of youth bands, ensembles, or choirs.

As well, MuzicTrain provides financial assistance to young people engaging in musical instruction and/or performance activities, both through the awarding of scholarships and bursaries, as well as by providing employment opportunities in relevant areas such as promotion, marketing, band leading and community liaison.
