Lesson 3 - "Plucking"
Plucking 2 or 3 strings at the same time
"Plucking" involves playing either two or three strings at the same time. The configuration of the fingers is the same as usual in Finger Picking: Thumb on the bass strings (D,A,E), 1st finger on G string, 2nd finger on B string, 3rd finger on high E string. But you can "pluck" either two strings or three. As you will discover, adding the 3rd string (high E) often doesn't add much.
NOTES
The bass (thumb) is often alternated beween root and another suitable note. You may want to experiment with a thumb pick. The finger tips are usually used to "pluck" the strings - NOT the nails, however many players DO use their nails. Experiment to discover what works for you.
