Adding Chords to Scales – 1

In this video I introduce the idea of “Scales +”. If you want to get past just strumming chords along with songs, this is a good place to start. We begin by simply adding a chord strum (of the I Chord) to the beginning and end of a major scale. The next step will be to add chords at various places in the scale, and to use this technique to add chords to other note sequences. Another application of this technique is to add bass notes and bass runs to chording patterns. We’ll get to these other applications in future videos.
